Witchstock 2010

Ogden’s First Witchstock Promises Spooky Fun
On Saturday, October 23, 2010, Historic 25th Street and Union Station will come alive with bewitching fun during Ogden’s first Witchstock presented by X96 radio. The festivities will last from 3 to 10 p.m. with a parade of witches, a scavenger hunt, ghost tours, magicians and performances by Cirkus Pandemonium and magicians Mysterious Mister Dayley and Brandon Chapman. Ogden City, Union Station and the Historic 25th Street Business Association invite the community to become a witch for the day (and well into the night). Activities slated during the first ever Witchstock include Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance lessons, card readers, street performers, fortune tellers and ghost stories and ghost tours of 25th Street. Vendors will line the street and offer their best wares. Attendees who come dressed in costume will be eligible to win prizes in various contests and will receive special discounts and offers from participating downtown merchants and restaurants. Businesses on Historic 25th Street will host a scavenger hunt and will decorate their shop windows in celebration of the season and this event. Prizes will be awarded for the best window decorations. Also, a new H25 business, The Imaging Depot, will be taking souvenir photos at Union Station. The fun will continue down the street at Historic Union Station. The fountain at Ogden’s Union Station will transform into a giant witch’s caldron and witches will witness a 458-pound pumpkin being carved in Union Station’s Grand Lobby. Other festivities planned include a Witch’s Tea Party featuring award-winning author Linda Dunning, author of several books about spirits, specters, ghosts and mysterious creatures of Utah. “Night at the Museum” ghost tours will be offered, a “Witches and Warlocks Twilight Morp” (prom) will happen at 8:00pm and several fun contests will be held at the station and on the street. The cost to attend the Witch’s Tea Part is $20. Space is limited and registration is recommended, but not mandatory. To reserve a spot visit the Union Station Gift Shop or call 801.393.9890. Admission for the Witches and Warlocks Twilight Morp is $10 but can be free if attendees participate in the scavenger hunt.
